My name is Estefanía Galindo Navarro, and I am from Barranquilla, Colombia.
I am a Ph.D. student in Spanish linguistics at the University of Wisconsin,
Madison (UW-Madison). I joined the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at
UW-Madison in Fall 2021, where I have worked as a Spanish teaching assistant
in intermediate-level language courses as well as a project assistant.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Foreign Languages at the Universidad
del Atlántico in my hometown Barranquilla, Colombia (2018). Besides, I had
the opportunity to work as an English teacher for 6 years at the same university.
I completed a diploma in Pedagogy and Didactics of Teaching Spanish as a Foreign
Language at the Caro y Cuervo Institute in Colombia (2020). I am currently a Reach
International Ambassador at UW-Madison and am interested in conducting further
research on the contact of indigenous languages, Palenquero and Colombian Caribbean
Spanish at the phonetic, phonological, and sociolinguistic levels.
